Scott Jones comes to Bryn Athyn College from Immaculata University, where he was the head athletic trainer for two years. Jones also worked as a staff athletic trainer at Riddle Rehab Institute for five years prior to IU. He spent his last two years at Riddle Rehab assigned as the assistant athletic trainer at Neumann University. He previously worked in local colleges, high schools and middle schools giving athletic training coverage. Jones had spent the five previous years in professional baseball as an athletic trainer in the Arizona Diamondbacks minor league baseball club. From 2002 until 2006, Jones was the athletic trainer with the South Bend Silver Hawks, and he spent the 2001 and 2002 seasons with the Yakima Bears. During the off-season, Jones worked as an assistant athletic trainer at Cabrini College during 2004-05, and as the head athletic trainer at Indiana University of South Bend in the winter season of 2003-04.
A 1995 graduate of California University (Pa.), Jones majored in Education as an undergraduate, and completed the NATA certified curriculum program. He earned his master’s degree in exercise science from Bloomsburg University in 1998. A certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), American College of Sports Medicine and the Pennsylvania Athletic Training Society, Jones has presented at numerous symposiums and workshops. In addition, Jones serves as an American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED instructor.
Jones resides in Reading, Pa., with his wife, Carol, and two children, Liam and Maura.
