Men's Ice Hockey Releases 2011-2012 Schedule

Bryn Athyn, Pa. - There is excitement in the air as the men's ice hockey program is ready to start their 2011-2012 campaign. With the newly approved membership to the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference, Bryn Athyn announced the release of the 2011-12 schedule on Friday. The Lions will start their season off on the road in a conference match up against Centenary College, which is a new member to the DVCHC in 2011-12. This will be the first time the two teams will meet.

The Lions will continue their road stretch as they head on an overnight trip to the DC area, as they will play Northern Virginia and the University of Maryland. This will be the first time Bryn Athyn has played either of these Blue Ridge Hockey Conference members.

"I really like the balance we have in our schedule this year as well as the variety of opponents. Our non-league games against teams such as Maryland, Drexel and Richard Stockton should prove to be a real test. I look for us to be a play-off contender this season. This season will provide allot of excitement for both our players and our many supporting fans.", expressed by Head Coach Puscian.

Bryn Athyn will wrap up their road stretch as they visit Rowan University on 11/5. The Lions went 1-1 against the Profs in 2010-11

Northern Virginia will come to town on Sunday 12/4 for Bryn Athyn's home opener of the year. The following weekend, the Lions will play host to Bloomsburg in DVCHC conference play. Following the game, there will be an alumni game for any and all past college players. The alumni game is slated for a 5:30pm start, with a dinner event following.
 
The Lions will host their second annual toy drive for charity against Richard Stockton (12/14) and Centenary (12/16).
 
Coming back from Christmas break, Bryn Athyn will face NJIT and Drexel in non-conference action. After returning home, Bryn Athyn faces Drexel (1/16) and Rowan (1/20). The Lions then head on the road to take on Widener. The weekend of February 3rd-4th, Bryn Athyn will face Widener at home, the last time these two teams met, Lions defeated the Pride with a last second goal in overtime to take the win. Bryn Athyn will host " FILL THE PAVIL" at this game, the first 100 fans will Bryn Athyn thundersticks to help the lead the Lions to victory.
 
Later that weekend,  the Lions will head to Shippensburg, last year the two teams tied in their contest.
 
Bryn Athyn finishes their season with two non conference games against West Chester (2/10) and Lehigh (2/11).
