Hockey Joins DVCHC American Division

Bryn Athyn, Pa —The Bryn Athyn College club ice hockey team has been accepted into the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference (DVCHC), starting the 2011-2012 season.


The DVCHC is an American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division III league with two divisions, including Rowan, Centenary, Shippensburg, Widener, Rutgers-Camden, Bloomsburg, Temple and Bryn Athyn in the American division. The National division is comprised of Neumann University, Alvernia College, East Stroudsburg, West Chester, Penn State Brandywine, and Richard Stockton.

The team will play each team in the division twice—home and away. The Lions non-conference action includes, Maryland, Northern VA, West Chester and Richard Stockton.

This past season, Bryn Athyn competed against many teams within the DVCHC, putting up many wins and competed in close games.  With the move to the DVCHC, the Lions will now have an opportunity to compete in playoffs and earn bids to the ACHA national tournament.
