Men’s hockey applies to the ACHA for DIII membership.

New league, new year in 2011-12

Bryn Athyn, Pa - Bryn Athyn College has made an official application to join the American Collegiate Hockey Association starting in 2011-12. The hockey program this past season played an independent ACHA schedule, playing DI, DII and DIII teams. The Division III league is comprised of smaller colleges, with enrollments 10,000 students. Director of Athletics Matt Kennedy stated, "We are very excited for an opportunity join the ACHA. I believe this is an important step for our hockey program, as we would like to bring back the long tradition of Lion hockey in the Delaware Valley."

Along with college's plan to join the ACHA, Bryn Athyn has made official application to join the Delaware Valley Collegiate Hockey Conference in 2011-12. The DVCHC has thirteen members that are separated into two divisions, the American and National. Some members in the conference include: West Chester University, Neumann University, Alvernia University, Rutgers-Camden, Widener University, Rowan University, Lehigh University, Richard Stockton, Shippensburg University and Penn State Brandywine. Head Coach Chris Puscian stated, "Bryn Athyn College has such a long tradition of hockey, and we have made tremendous strides over the past year to elevate the program. Joining the DVCHC is just another step in the building process."
