Field hockey upended at DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College field hockey team suffered an 8-1 setback to DeSales University Thursday afternoon.

Bri Lennox put together a great individual effort to get the Lions on the board with 1:20 left in the match. Lennox dribbled her way through the DeSales defense and slapped a shot, the only Bryn Athyn shot of the game, by Jackie de Raismes. Lennox now has four goals this season, tying her with Payton Boler for the team lead.

Kylie Honnick-Payne led the Bulldogs (5-2) with four goals. She scored two goals during the opening half and two more to start the second half.

Christie Hansen recorded the first goal of the match and the final goal of the first half, and assisted on both of Honnick-Payne's first-half goals. Maggie Zaleski and Claire Gogel each had a goal in the second half.

Macey Mitchell and Anja Weisser split the goalkeeping duties in the Bryn Athyn net. Mitchell stopped six shots in the first 35 minutes, while Weisser entered the match at the beginning of the second half and finished up with six stops.

Katarina Polyviou didn't face a shot during her 35 minutes in the DeSales net, but ended up with the victory.

Bryn Athyn (1-5) returns home to begin North Eastern Athletic Conference play against Keuka College on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m.
