Men's Lacrosse Drops to Merchant Marine

Bryn Athyn, Pa. - The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team fell to Merchant Marine 18-2 in Thursday afternoon action.

Dana Ayers led the Lions with one goal and three shots on net. Travis McCurdy scored a goal and picked up six ground balls.

The Mariners got on the board with two goals in the first period. McCurdy scored eight seconds into the second period, off a pass from Cade Gurney to hold Merchant Marine within one goal. 

USMMA increased the offensive pressure by scoring the next five goals to take command of the game. With 5:47 left on the clock, Ayers scored to help bring the Lions back to life. Before the second half was over, the Mariners went on to score two more goals.

Merchant Marine scored eight goals in the third period and with added defensive pressure, the Lions held the fourth period to only two goals. James Lindrooth  and Dylan Roscioli  grabbed four ground balls a piece. 

Robert Moran started the first half and made 11 saves in net. Nelson Lopez played the second half and made two saves.

Bryn Athyn is set to host Richard Stockton on Saturday, April 13th in their last home game of the season. The game is slated for 1:00 pm.
