Men's Lacrosse Suffers First Loss Against Regis 9-8

Ambler, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's lacrosse team fell, 9-8 in a tough fought battle against Regis College in Friday afternoon action. 

Luke Frazier led the Lions with four assists, one goal and picked up five ground balls.  Kieran Ragan scored four goals and ground balls each.  Travis McCurdy scored a goal and six ground balls.

McCurdy started the scoring for the Lions in the first period, to put Bryn Athyn on the board 1-0, at the end of the first period.

Regis scored two minutes into the second period to tie the game at 1-1. Ragan scored off a good clear, at 11:31 to retake the Lion lead.  The Cardinals capitalized of a Bryn Athyn penalty to score two goals and retake the lead, 3-2.  Ragan would score to more goals in the second period to chip away at the Regis lead, 5-4 at the end of the second period.

Frazier scored at the 12:49 mark of the third period to tie the game at five all. Regis scored two goals in the third to take a 7-5 lead. Nick Fetko scored with 3:54 left in the period to bring the game within one going into the fourth period.

Ragan scored 2:25 into the fourth period to tie the game for sixth time in the game. The Cardinals kept the offensive pressure to score two more goals to take a two-goal lead. Sean Feyler scored with a 1:45 left in the game to bring the game within one. The Lions would fall to Regis 9-8.

Robert Moran made 13 saves in net.

Bryn Athyn heads on the road to face Merchant Marine tomorrow at 3:00 pm.
