Men’s soccer falls to PSU Brandywine 3-1

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, 3-1 to visiting Penn State Brandywine in a non-conference match Saturday night on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.

The Nittany Lions' Mohamed Camara gave the visitors a 2-0 halftime advantage with a pair of first-half goals. Camara's first goal came at the 15:59 mark as he collected a Mike Usher pass on the left wing, cut inside, and shot the ball across the goalmouth into the right side of the net. His second goal came at 26:18 on a through ball up the middle of the Lion defense from Usher. Camara sprinted away from the defense and found the upper right corner of the net.

Brandon Crochunis tacked on PSU Brandywine's third goal as he dribbled around two defenders and delivered a shot from the left side of the penalty area that snuck inside the right post just over 11 minutes into the second half.

Abdul Sule allowed Bryn Athyn (2-1) to pull one back 2:19 left with a beautiful strike from 30 yards away. Sule intercepted a Daniel Willie pass and without hesitation fired off an unsaveable shot that found the upper left corner of the net. It was Sule's first goal of the year.

Camden Cacolice and Quentin Hager split the goalkeeping duties for the Lions. Cacolice played the opening 45 minutes and stopped one shot. Hager recorded four saves during the second half.

Will Scott-Norris had one save in the first half for PSU Brandywine, while Brandon Welden made two saves in the second.

Bryn Athyn returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 20 against Immaculata at 7 p.m. on General Roland K. Nelson Field.
