Lions fall to Clarks Summit to CSAC road match

BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's tennis had its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) winning streak snapped at four after a 6-3 conference loss to Clarks Summit University Wednesday afternoon in the Birchwood Tennis Center.

Bryn Athyn is now 4-4 overall and 4-1 in CSAC play, while Clarks Summit improves to 5-2 overall and remains perfect against the conference at 3-0.

The Lions led 2-1 after the completion of the doubles matches. Zach Brock and Jacob Elder improved to 6-2 as a team after an 8-6 victory over Clarks Summit's No. 2 team of Evan Michel and Hugh Hayner. Tanner Schroeder and Matthew McCabe picked up their first win together after edging out Eric Bixby and Jordan Johansen in a tiebreaker at No. 3 doubles, 8-7 (7-2).

Schroeder went on the be the only Lion to earn a win in singles play, knocking off Dennis Gray Jr. 6-0, 6-4 at No. 6. It was Schroeder's third singles win of the season and the first at No. 6.

Bryn Athyn and Clarks Summit will square off once again on Saturday, April 13 at noon on the Gladish Tennis Courts.
