PHILADELPHIA – Bryn Athyn College men's tennis junior Zach Brock was the named to the 2019 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men's Tennis Team Monday. The voting on the All-Area Team was conducted by the 30 sports information offices in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Brock is the first Bryn Athyn College student-athlete in school history to earn a place on a Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Team.
On the tennis court, Brock earned All-Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) first-team recognition in singles and doubles becoming the first men's tennis player to be selected to the first team. He racked up six singles victories—four at No. 3 and two at No. 2and nine doubles wins with teammate Jacob Elder. Brock was a three-time CSAC player of the week.
A biology major with a psychology minor with a 3.97 cumulative grade-point average, Brock was named to the Bryn Athyn College Dean's List in all three trimesters.
In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area, an athlete must be in his or her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better.
