Men's cross country finishes fifth at Immaculata Invitational

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's cross country team came in fifth place at the Immaculata Invitational Thursday afternoon, the team's final tune-up for the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championship.

The Lions had three runners finish inside the top-30 to end the day with 129 points.

Bryn Martinez led the way for Bryn Athyn as he completed the 4-kilometer race with the 19th-place time of 15 minutes, 18.1 seconds. Shane McCurdy recorded a 23rd place finish with a time of 15:56.0. Gaird Brock's time of 16:10.4 was good for 26th place overall.

Alex Hyatt had the 33rd-place time of 17:04.4. Justin Rallo was Bryn Athyn's final scoring runner thanks to his 51st-place time of 19:18.0.

Bennett Buick crossed the finish line in 19:29.5 to end the day in 52nd. Ricky Tran owned the 55th-place time of 20:14.5. Michael Flynn completed the Lions' lineup after finishing the event in 25:04.6 to finish up in 57th.

Led by Joel Varughese's winning time of 13:11.9, Cairn University won the team title with 19 points.

Bryn Athyn will compete for its first NEAC title on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Morrisville State College.
