Men's cross country finishes eighth in Moravian/Cedar Crest Open

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's cross country team came in eighth place in the Moravian/Cedar Crest Open that was held at Bicentennial Park—the site for the Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship next month—on Friday evening.

For the third time this season, Trevor Klecker was Bryn Athyn's top runner. Kleckner set a personal-best time at the 8-kilometer distance, completing the course in 32 minutes, 28.2 seconds to come in 59th overall in the 83-runner field.

Shane McCurdy posted his best 8K time of the 2018 season after crossing the finish line with the 62nd-place time of 33:20.6. Isaac Syre ended the day with a time of 34:25.7, a personal-best, to take 66th. Tanner Condgon had the 68th-place time of 35:30.2. The final scoring spot went to Tyree Sewell who had a 71st-place finish with a personal-best time of 35:41.5.

Gaird Brock's season-best 8K time of 36:27.1 landed him in 73rd place. Justin Rallo was 80th with a personal best time of 39:42.4, while Zach Pamaylaon was 81st in his season debut with a time of 43:14.1.

Bryn Athyn had a team score of 197 points. Moravian, who placed four runners in the top five including event winner Greg Jaindl with a time of 25:42.3, won the team event with 20 points.

The Lions are off until Saturday, Sept. 22 when they compete in the Penn State Abington Invitational at Lorimer Park.
