Men's cross country takes eighth in Penn State Abington Invitational

ABINGTON, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College men's cross country team came in eighth place in the Penn State Abington Invitational that was held Saturday morning in Lorimer Park.

Trevor Kleckner was Bryn Athyn's top runner for the fifth consecutive race as crossed the finish line in the 35th position in the 71-runner event with an 8-kilometer time of 35 minutes, 06.3 seconds.

Isaac Syre ended the day with the 39th-place time of 36:16.3, while Tanner Congdon had the 41st-place time of 36:40.0. Tyree Sewell finished the race with a time of 39:09.5 to take 49th place.

Justin Rallo edged out teammate Gaird Brock by 0.5 seconds to claim the final scoring spot. Rallo's time of 39:33.4 placed him in 53rd overall. Brock settled for 54th with a time of 39:33.9.

Bryn Athyn had a team score of 188 in the nine-team event, that was won by Cairn with 35 points. Penn State Abington's Benjamin Hoyer was the race winner with a time of 28:24.1.

Bryn Athyn's next race is the Bryn Athyn Invitational on Friday, Sept. 28 at 5 p.m.
