Kristina Clark scores 42 points to lead the Lions to 52-49 victory over Keuka

Keuka Park, NY- Kristina Clark scored a season high 42 points to secure the 52-49 victory over Keuka in NEAC match up. The Lions move to 6-2 in the NEAC. 

Kristina Clark continues to edge closer to scoring her 1000th point for her NCAA career. Today Kristina Clark scored 42 points going 14 of 23 from the field, 13 of 18 from the free throw line and 1-1 from beyond the arc.

Despite falling behind early in the first, 12-7, the Lions were able to go on a 7-0 run to close out the quarter, taking a 14-12 lead. Kristina Clark scored 12 points in the quarter to lead the Lions.

The run by the Lions continued for the first 7:31 of the second quarter. In total, it was a 20-0 run by Bryn Athyn that gave them a 27-12 lead that was topped off by the Lions Je'La Watson three pointer. Keuka made a little run to cut the lead to 7 to close out the half, 27-20.

The third quarter saw Keuka College take charge. They scored the first 10 points of the quarter to take a 30-27 lead. Bryn Athyn made three free throws in the quarter, but Keuka College would not allow a field goal as they outscored the Lions 14-3 and led 34-30 following three quarters of play.

Kristina Clark then took over the game scoring 20 of  her game high 42 points. Keuka held a six point lead with 2:56 left. Then at the 1:43 mark, Kristina Clark made the biggest play of the game hitting a three pointer and getting fouled in the process, Kristina finished off the four point play tieing the game at 45. The Lions finally took back the lead with two Kristina Clark free throws, 49-47. With 11 seconds left and the scored tied at 49, Kristina Clark drove to the basket making a lay up and getting fouled. Kristina made the free throw and secured the win for the Lions, 52-49.

The Lions move to 6-2 in the NEAC and 8-5 overall. Kristina Clark led the Lions with 46 points and 7 rebounds, Defensively the Lions Taylor Davis had four blocks and five rebounds, as well Robin McClinek had 3 blocks and 3 rebounds. 

The Lions come back home to take on Penn College on Thursday January 21st at 8:00pm at Asplundh Field House.
