Women' Basketball win fourth in a row with 74-49 victory over Penn State Abington

Bryn Athyn, Pa - The Bryn Athyn women's basketball team won its fourth game in a row 74-49 over visiting Penn State Abington. The Lions move to 9-2 in the conference and 11-5 overall. 

The Lions fell behind early in the first quarter 11-8 to Abington. The Lions then were able to move to their full court press and cause Abington to turn the ball over. The Lions finally took the lead after a steal by Taylor Davis and a Kristina Clark lay up to go up 12-11. The Lions closed out the quarter with a 11-5 run to hold a 18-16 lead at the end of the quarter. 

With the score 22-20 in favor of the Lions at the 7:45 mark of the second quarter, the Lions went on 12- 0 run for the next five minutes of the quarter. Kristina Clark capped off the run with a lay up after Sarah Elizabeth Antunase block making the score 32-20. Sarah Elizabeth Antunase was the difference in the half for the Lions with seven rebounds and five blocked shots. With 47 seonds left Bianca Feliciana hit a three pointer to extend the Lions lead to 16, 37-21. The half ended with the Lions leading 39-21.

Kristina Clark opened up the third quarter with seven points in the opening two and half minutes. The Lions defense was able to keep the a double digit lead throughout the quarter. Samantha Hicks hit two free throws at the end of the quarter making score 53-39. 

The fourth quarter was much of the same as high pressure and fast tempo of the Lions gave Abington issues as it did all game long. Abington cut the lead to 10, but that was as close as they were going to get. As the Lions secured the 74-49 victory.

Sarah Elizabeth Antunase recorded the first ever triple double in program history, with 10 points, 11 rebounds and 12 blocked shots. Kristina Clark led the Lions in scoring with 27 points. 

The Lions move to 9-2 in the conference and 11-5 overall. The Lions are back home this Tuesday February 2nd as they host Penn State Berks at Asplundh Field House at 8:00pm.
