CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – Bryn Athyn's freshman midfielder Ashley Rivera (Southampton, Pa./William Tennent) scored twice in the second half, while junior forward Shelby Puccio (Southampton, PA./William Tennent) and senior forward Rose Glass (Philadelphia, PA./George Washington) also scored, as the Lions (5-6-2, 3-3-1 Colonial States Athletic Conference) punched their ticket to the CSAC playoffs with a 4-0 win over Clarks Summit (4-8, 1-6) on Saturday afternoon in women's soccer play.
The Lions clinched the final playoff spot, with the seeding still to be decided with one week left in the regular season.
Bryn Athyn scored early as Puccio scored just 97 seconds into the contest for the early 1-0 lead. Glass scored her first goal of the game, 6:02 later to give the Lions a 2-0 edge.
Rivera needed her first of two goals in the contest as 20:48 for a 3-0 lead, then scored one more with just 2:09 left in the match on an assist from Tori Titano.
That's all junior goalkeeper Allie Warren (Tower City, Pa./Lebanon Catholic) needed as she made two saves to post a clean sheet.
The Lions close the regular season out on Thursday as they travel to Rosemont.
