Bryn Athyn College announces the addition of Men’s and Women's tennis to varsity offerings!
The Bryn Athyn College Athletic Department is proud to announce the addition of men’s and women’s tennis to its varsity athletics program.
The Lions will begin their inaugural season spring of 2012 with
Abraham Joseph as head coach.
Athletics director Matt Kennedy said that the addition of two more sports keeps Bryn Athyn on its aggressive growth pattern for intercollegiate athletics.
"We're building first-class athletic programs at this campus with high-quality student-athletes, and we're excited to now bring tennis into the mix,"
The tennis program will be a new opportunity for the students of Bryn Athyn to improve their athletic skills, grow in their faith, and bond as a community. The Lions will call the Richard R. Gladish Tennis Courts, its home for their inaugural season.
Bryn Athyn will start playing regional universities in the Fall 2011, with a non-tradional season. This will allow athletes of all levels to compete in matches against local teams. Both the men and women will compete in the spring.
"Our athletics program is not done growing," Kennedy added. "We are going to continue to grow and will add more sports in the future. Our administration really sees the value of intercollegiate athletics and what it can bring our university.”
