PSU-Brandywine Hands Bryn Athyn First Loss, 3-2
Bryn Athyn, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College Women’s Volleyball team fell, 3-2 (25-22, 21-25, 25-17, 9-15), to the Lions of Penn State-Brandywine.
The Lions won the first set, 25-22. Tied at 22, Brooke Blair served to take the first set. Penn State–Brandywine won the second set, 25-21. Lions took the third set, 25-17. Bryn Athyn went on a four-point streak to take the third set handily. Penn State won the fourth set 25-20 and then took the fifth and deciding set 15-9.
Freshman Kaitlyn Brock led the Lions with 17 kills and 11 digs. Cathleen Curran dished out 32 assists and seven digs. Cree Gurney led the team, with 12 digs, six kills and three service aces. Blair notched 10 digs, five kills and two service aces.
Bryn Athyn (0-1) will host their first Quad Match this coming
Saturday. Matches start at 11:00 am. The Lions will play Goucher
College on Court 1 at 1:00 pm. GO LIONS!
