Lions pick up five-set victory at Penn State Abington

ABINGTON, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College women's volleyball team picked up its first victory over Penn State Abington since the 2015 season as they knocked off the Nittany Lions in a five-set match (25-20, 25-18, 20-25, 15-25, 15-9) Friday night in the Penn State Athletic Building.

Bryn Athyn, a winner in back-to-back matches, in now 4-3 overall. Not only was it the Lions' first victory over the Nittany Lions in three seasons, it was Bryn Athyn's first victory over Penn State Abington in Abington since October 8, 2013.

Hannah Dewees recorded nine kills, a season-high 15 digs, and a team-high four service aces to pace Bryn Athyn. Briana Cliney added eight kills and two solo blocks. Amber Wood and Jenessa Lombardi both had six kills. Lombardi also posted 18 assists.

Maddison Foley racked up a career-best 29 digs.

Andia Anderson led Penn State Abington (2-9) with a match-high 21 kills. Cortney Schwar added 27 assists, 13 digs, and eight aces.

Bryn Athyn has a week off before taking the court against on Friday, Sept. 21 at King's (Pa.) College at 5 p.m.
