BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The Bryn Athyn College field hockey team ended its 2019 campaign with a 6-0 loss to Cedar Crest in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) contest Saturday afternoon on General Ronald K. Nelson Field.
Prior to the start of the match, the Lions recognized six players who played their final game for the team: Lilou Haddad, Brittany Gunther, Erin Gibson, Chantal Farmer, Hannah Fox, and Maya Synnestvedt.
Once the match got underway, goalie Kailey Brower would make a career-high 21 saves for the Lions, besting her previous high of 17 that came on August 31, 2019 against Centenary.
Cedar Crest's Makenzie Kistler opened the scoring 2:21 into the contest with a flick from the left wing. Kiley Malone scored both second-quarter Falcon goals 2:40 apart, the first one on a backhand sweep and the second on a shot from the center of the arc.
Brice Gardner extended the lead to 4-0 in the third quarter with a blast from point-blank range. In the fourth quarter, Alexandra Arabio and Amber Cieri recorded the Cedar Crest (8-9, 4-2 CSAC) goals.
