Bryn Athyn, Pa – The men's soccer team tied Lancaster Bible College 0-0 today to move to 1-2-1 in the NEAC, 5-4-1 overall.
The Lions were looking to build on their recent victory over Gallaudet on Sunday. The game started off with Lancaster Bible controlling the flow of the game maintaining possession and creating several opportunities. The Lions were able to hold off the Chargers attack when in the 42nd minute the Chargers were awarded a penalty kick, but the Lions goalkeeper Damilare Adeleye was up to the challenge making the amazing diving save to keep the Chargers off the scoreboard to end the first half.
The second half saw a complete turnaround as the Lions were the team controlling the game and putting pressure on the Chargers. The Lions created a ton of opportunities, outshooting the Chargers 8-5. The Lions best opportunity happened early in the second half when in the 45th minute, Daouda Camara followed Alejandro Medina shot from distance, and with the ball inside the six and goalie out of position, Daouda Camara shot the ball over the crossbar.
In the overtime periods, the play went from end to end, but neither the Lions nor the Chargers could find the goal to break the tie.
The Lions are now 1-2-1 in the NEAC and 5-4-1 overall.
The Lions are travel this Saturday to take on SUNY Cobleskill in another NEAC game, where the Lions will try to get to get their second win in the conference.
