ROSEMONT, Pa. – Bryn Athyn College sophomore guard Clayshonia Cogmon was selected as the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) defensive player of the week by the conference office on Monday.
In three games, Cogmon averaged 6.3 defensive rebounds and 4.3 steals. Cogmon opened the year with four steals and seven defensive rebounds against Immaculata on Nov. 14. She had an eight-defensive rebound, two steal performance in the first round of the Rinso Marquette Invitational against host Lebanon Valley. She capped off the week with a career-high seven steals and a team-best four defensive rebounds in the Invitational's consolation round matchup with Juniata.
For the week, Cogmon averaged 17.0 points and 12.7 rebounds. She had a double-double in all three games becoming the first Bryn Athyn player to record a double-double in each of the opening three games of a season.
Cogmon is the CSAC leader in rebounding (12.7 per game), offensive rebounds per game (6.0), and steals per game (4.3). She is also second in steals (13) and fifth in scoring (17.0 points per game) and defensive rebounds per game (6.3).
Bryn Athyn (0-3) returns to action with a non-conference contest at Gallaudet on Sunday, Nov. 25 at noon.
